At this time, we are seeking part-time (minimum 10 hour availability) to full-time fully licensed clinicians. Clinicians can work in-person or have a hybrid schedule. At this time only independently/fully licensed clinicians will be considered. The applicant should hold the same values of acceptance of all people that come into the therapeutic space and a desire to continue learning and growing with the counseling field. The ideal applicant will have experience and expertise in DBT, ACT, CBT, anxiety, trauma, depression, and/or mindfulness. As a Mental Health Counselor at Ebb & Flow Counseling, your primary responsibility is to provide therapeutic support and counseling services to individuals (and/or relationships, families if applicable) dealing with various life changes, transitions, or mental health struggles. You will work autonomously on a team of clinicians with the support of Client Care Coordinators to help foster a confidential and supportive environment for clients. This role requires strong clinical skills, empathy, and the ability to establish trustful relationships with clients. Organization, timeliness, independence, and appropriate record keeping is necessary for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Assessment, Diagnosis & Treatment Planning:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand clients’ mental health concerns, history, and current life situations.
- Utilize standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews to formulate accurate diagnoses.
- Treatment plan using evidenced based tools and interventions.
Individual Counseling:
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to the unique needs of each client.
- Collaborate with clients to set achievable goals and develop personalized treatment plans.
Safety Assessment:
- Perform safety assessments if/when a client expresses safety concerns to themselves or others.
Confidentiality and Ethics:
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.
- Educate clients on their rights and responsibilities in the counseling relationship.
Documentation:
- Keep thorough and accurate records of client sessions, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Ensure compliance with legal and ethical documentation standards.
Collaboration and Referrals:
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, as needed, to provide comprehensive care.
- Make appropriate referrals to specialists or additional support services.
Client Education:
- Provide psychoeducation on mental health issues, coping strategies, and self-care practices.
- Assist clients in developing skills to manage stress, anxiety, and other challenges.
Professional Development & Licensure:
- Stay updated on the latest research, treatment modalities, and ethical standards in the field of mental health.
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities, such as workshops or training.
- Keep in good standing with the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage & Family Therapist Board
- If provisionally licensed, will seek full licensure status when eligible.
Qualifications
Education: Successful completion of a Master’s or Doctorate degree in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, professional counseling, or related degree.
License: Fully independent licensed clinicians (LISW, LPCC, LIMFT). Will not consider provisionally licensed clinicians at this time.
Experience: 2 years (or more) post graduate experience of one-on-one talk therapy.
- Demonstrated experience in providing one-on-one counseling services to clients.
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques and evidence-based practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload.
