I’m Ellie, an EMDR-trained trauma therapist at Ebb & Flow. I am a CLINICAL THERAPIST and hold a Master’s in Social Work from the Mandel School at Case Western Reserve University with a Trauma-Informed Care certificate. I have been certified through the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics on developmental trauma and the brain, and have completed Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training. I specialize in helping teens and adults heal from intimate partner violence, childhood abuse, religious trauma, and queer trauma. I’m particularly passionate about supporting the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
We all have shame. I believe that shame points us to our biggest hurts, and our best opportunities for healing. I think we’re all doing our best to feel our feelings, but so many things get in our way – trauma, stigma, insecurity, difficult relationships. The strategies I bring to my clients are aimed at experiencing our lives more fully, by establishing healthy boundaries, grieving past trauma, and connecting to the things and relationships that bring us joy. Despite the traumatizing world we live in, there’s so much hope and joy to be found in this life, and I hope to help you connect with your best self.
When I’m not working, I enjoy cooking, baking, reading, gardening, reality TV, and playing with my rescue dog, Shenzi. I’m a proud Clevelander who loves trying new restaurants and hiking trails.
