Ellen Scott, LPC

LICENSED THERAPIST

(She/Her)

Hi, I’m Ellen and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and working towards my Art Therapy License at Ebb & Flow Counseling. I have earned my master’s degree in Counseling and Art Therapy from Ursuline College, and I have a BA from Kent State University in Human Development and Family Studies.

As a therapist, I believe my role is to walk alongside you through life’s challenges while guiding you towards your own power and truth. My passion is to help clients to live life fully and authentically. Some of my areas of interest include working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, and identity development. My approach to therapy is client-centered, and I believe that as the client, you are the expert on your own experience, and therapy should be collaborative as we work together to create a plan for your unique goals. Having experienced therapy as a client myself, I understand that it can be intimidating, so I work to create a safe space for you to express yourself with no judgment. As a therapist, I like to use elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness techniques, and psychoeducation, but always strive to use what best fits each unique client.
In addition to counseling, I also love to use art therapy. I believe creativity is a conduit for healing and art therapy can encourage emotional release while empowering the client to express themselves. You don’t have to be an artist to experience the benefits of art therapy; in art therapy it is all about the process over the product.

When I’m not at work, you can find me enjoying time with friends and family, reading fantasy books, cuddling with my cat, or creating art. I look forward to meeting you and working with you to reach your goals!

Ellen is provisionally licensed and supervised by Erin Schweibold, LPCC-S, ATR.
