Hi there! I am Meghan Gayter and I’m a Licensed Social Worker. I am so excited to join the Ebb & Flow team and to be a part of serving the Cleveland community. I am a firm believer that therapy can be for anyone, but I realize that starting your journey can be the hardest part! My hope is to provide a safe, open and collaborative space, as I feel building a compatible therapist/client relationship is the first step in your journey to personal growth.
Before joining the Ebb & Flow team, I graduated from Ohio University with a BA in hospitality. It was during my own personal journey that I decided to make a switch from serving the event world, to serving the complicated world of teenagers in a community outreach position. I became passionate about working with adolescents, and went on to pursue my Masters in Social Work from the University of Illinois Chicago. Since then, I have worked primarily with the teenage population, specializing in topics such as sexual abuse, anxiety and depression, self-esteem, self-harming, family issues and women’s issues. I utilize a strength-based approach in order to build self-esteem and empowerment, while also incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Trauma-informed practices. I think it’s important to work together to find what works best for you, at whatever pace feels comfortable. I look forward to continuing to serve the teen population, while also working with people of all ages on similar issues!
In my free time, I also enjoy working on my own growth! I love trying new things and exploring new hobbies. Currently, you can find me picking and pressing flowers for different art projects. I’m also passionate about cooking and experimenting with creating new recipes in the kitchen. When I’m not diving into a new recipe, I’m planning my next vacation, preferably somewhere off the beaten path.
