Hi! You can call me Jess. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker. I hold a BA in Psychology from Miami University and MSSA from Case Western Reserve University. I have been in the social work field for over eleven years. My previous roles have included emergency room social worker, child welfare worker, training supervisor, mindfulness teacher and college counseling center therapist.
I am thrilled to be a part of the team here at Ebb & Flow Counseling. My primary goal is to co-create an environment with my clients that fosters trust, depth and growth. My areas of focus are life transitions, self-development, anxiety, depression, grief and trauma. I utilize a relational and feminist approach that honors the complexities of my clients’ experiences. I aim to provide affirming and inclusive care for all identities including LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC.
Some of my favorite modalities to incorporate into the therapy space are mindfulness, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. With these modalities, my clients have the opportunity to grow in their awareness, explore their values and challenge unhelpful thought patterns. These building blocks set the stage for increased insight, positive change and symptom relief. If that sounds like something that you are looking for, let’s talk!
Outside of the therapy room, you’ll find me out exploring all that Cleveland has to offer. I especially enjoy trying new coffee shops and taking lakeside walks with my family. When I have time to explore a bit farther away from home, you’ll find me taking in the beauty of a National Park. My favorite spots include Mills Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park and Thunder Hole in Acadia National Park.
I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you!
